Breathe

In addition to eating, showering, eating, and sleeping I feel like regardless of who you are, or what you are doing with your life, everyone’s just gotta give up one minute of their day to close their eyes and breathe. And not just breathe like, i don’t wanna die breathe, but breathe like you are taking in you’re entire existence. Remember where you came from, where you are, where you want to go, and why you want to get there. Life is fast, its relentless, and its unmerciful. But I’ve always believed that the beauty of humanity is our relentless drive to succeed and to progress. Everyone’s got something to offer, so if you got a dream, don’t lose sight of it. And if you wake up wondering….what the heck am i doing, just close your eyes, breathe, and remember.

5-8-12 Andrew’s PROM Wedding.

Then Andrew followed up with his promming (or wedding). It was like a LEGIT wedding, and was funny as hell. We had Raymond Lam as the best man, Kevin Ton as the flower girl, Ling Wang as the ring bearer, Bowen Ly as the videographer, Chris Meng and I as the photographers, and many of our close friends as guests.

All I have to say is.. GUM SAI LEI.

REAL PASTOR CLOTHES. LOL.

Pass the BUBBLE and the WORD around. Gab Talks is right around the corner!

Why Gab Talks?

I can admit that I am a sucker for community. The idea of people coming together, sharing ideas, or even just getting to know one another more just brings a smile to my face and fills my heart with warm fuzzies. So a couple of weeks ago, when an idea sparked in my head to some how combine Ted Talks ( a conference where leading innovators and thinkers come together to share ideas) and Gab my gut just couldn’t pass over the opportunity.

For the past several weeks a number of people would ask me what’s Gab Talks all about or why try to start something like Gab Talks…and to be honest, its because there are so many amazing people at Gabrielino. We may be a small school, but the the people at our school have big ideas, and the ideas that we could share with each other regardless if we are a teacher or a student, are just as valuable as the lessons we learn in the classrooms.

And who knows, maybe people wont like Gab Talks. But as for now, Im going to do everything in my power to expose them to the awesome that is Gabrielino teachers, students, and staff.

A little backstory to this clip before you watch it:

Will Smith’s father abandoned him and his mother when he was a child, and when Will was finally getting into show business and making a name for himself, he tried to sneak his way back into his life like nothing happened. Will co-wrote this episode, and James Avery (Uncle Phil) said “this scene was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to shoot in my life. Every emotion, every word.. that was Will”

Will was actually supposed to play it off and then walk away, and there was originally an alternate scene that was supposed to happen, but he actually completely cut out what was supposed to be said, and did all of his own dialogue. The hug at the end of this scene is completely genuine, and this was a stepping stone in Will’s career where he started to take on the “do what feels, sounds, and looks right” approach to his acting.

This part always chokes me up )’:
